Today in class we discussed the topic question should the U.S. continue to give foreign aid during the recession? Remember the key terms I underlined in that question. Foreign aid is any money, medicine, or supplies given to other countries. This could be for a disaster, war, disease or development. The other term was recession. A recession is a time where the economy is not doing as well as it should. The unemployement rate is higher and the market is bad. The United States is currently in a state or recession. So after studying these terms and the topic write a 3-5 sentence statement telling me if you believe the U.S. should continue to give foreign aid during the recession and tell me why you believe that.(put your name at the end of the comment) Don't forget the stats and figures I gave you today. I have attached some of the articles you already have and a few new ones as well for your info.

I am on the yes side. We are one of the most respected countries. We would want to keep that.

I say yes because we always help so I think we should keep on helping. But if the taxes got lower we could help even more.My second thing to support my answer is that we could help lots of people who are need and help.
ReplyDeleteNo, because we have over ! trillion dollars to pay other countries. If we give are money to other countries we might not have as much money. Some of the other countries that we give money to support terrorism such as Iraq. We also need to correct are own problems before we correct other countries problems.

No because we have a 1.3TRILLION Dollar deficit. We need to pay off our debt before we help the other countries with theirs. Plus, we donnot know if they intend to use the money for help for their country.

I think we should give money to other countries. Also we should give money to countries who are in need of money for food or clean water. That is my oppinnion.

No! because we need it to lower our economy. If we could just give a small amount it would not be so high. Once we pay of are country then we can give more money.
ReplyDeleteWe should continue to give foreign aid to other countries. The medicine and supplies we give are made by businesses in our country . We should make the countries buy products from the U.S. with the money we give them. This will help the recession of both countries.
ReplyDeleteBrooks Bell
yes, we should keep on giving money to foregin aids because the people in other countries are not as privileged as us and a lot of the people don't have clean water and food .
ReplyDeleteJohanna Hixson
Yes, I think we should take care of other countries because we have more resources than other countries. Everyone sould have food and clean water. Sarah Elliott
ReplyDeleteI think we should continue our foreign aid to other countries during the recession. Instead of money we should help them with medical aid, food and water.
ReplyDeleteNo, the United States is already in debt. Before we give money to other countries we should pay off our debt. There are other ways we can help countries instead of sending money from our government. We can send ministries to other countries who specialize in helping build water wells, growing food, and medical care. Once our debt is paid off we can begin sending money to other countries.
ReplyDeleteKendall Chapman
No. I think that because we can strengthen our country with not giving any money to other countries. After we reduce our debt we will foreign aid.
